This special book presents magnificent, illuminated manuscripts of women's prayers by contemporary Israeli artist Enya Tamar Keshet. 28 prayers collected from around the world and recited exclusively by women are presented in reproductions of her detailed and colorful original work accompanied by text from Hebrew, Ladino, and Yiddish sources. The 28 prayers correspond to a woman's complete cycle of life, from the birth of daughter, to a Bat Mitzvah, for a bride, during pregnancy, after childbirth, on parenting, and more. Traditional prayers like Eshet Chayil and Hannah's Prayer of Thanksgiving are included, as is the first women's tehinna stated before Torah study, and a plate that includes the 115 names of the women in the Torah in the order in which they appear.
Enya Tamar Keshet's manuscripts combine the traditional look of the Lisbon Judaica manuscript workshop of the 15th century with her own inspiration.
